 I like this patch -- very thorough. I would suggest changing the names
 though... that Lbl rubs me wrong way. (Yes, I know it was *i* who
 originally put that in there)

 How about:

  * baseLabel
  * baseLabelText
  * dataLabel
  * dataLabelText

 ??
