Comment:

 I think that this is actually a 3.0 ticket: "Get rid of the accessor
 methods on zoom and resolution". the rest of the stuff is dealt with or
 being dealt with, but I'll bump this to 3.0 pending further discussion on
 the removal of the accessors.
