Comment:

 With this patch applied, current trunk tests (@7051) fail because
 Layer.Vector.destroy() calls its parent's destroy() before doing its own
 cleanup. Thus, this ticket depends on #1536 which has a patch for this
 cleanup issue. With both patches applied, tests pass on FF2 and IE7.
